Chapter 331 Account Reconciliation
Chapter 331 Account Reconciliation
Qi Yuzhe clearly saw Han Che's concerns and suggested, "How about this, we each take turns asking one question to quickly clarify the situation?"
"You ask one question, I ask one question, that way no one loses out, and it also deepens our trust."
Han Che pondered for a moment, then nodded: "Then I'll start asking."
"Sigh, fine..." Qi Yuzhe was somewhat reluctant, but since he had asked, there was no reason to refuse.
Han Che moved forward a bit, resting his elbows on the table and his fingers interlaced under his chin. "How did you get into Tide Prison?"
"So that's the problem after all?" Qi Yuzhe pursed his lips, hesitated for a moment, and said, "The reason I'm here is rather embarrassing. Basically, I transmigrated here; I opened my eyes and found myself here."
"Time travel? How did you time travel?" Han Che pressed.
Qi Yuzhe raised an eyebrow and glanced at him. "You've already asked one question. It's my turn." He held up a finger and waved it in front of Han Che. "What conditions do I need to be resurrected?"
Han Che opened his mouth, intending to retort, but after thinking about it, he swallowed his words.
He looked into Qi Yuzhe's eyes, and a slight change appeared in his gaze.
When the word "time travel" came out of the other person's mouth, the tension in his heart eased a little.
There was something more in common between the two of them, and that feeling softened his tone slightly.
"Three hundred thousand," Han Che said, then thought for a moment and added, "Three hundred thousand obtained from the player world."
Han Che thought for a moment, then decided not to press the matter further about how the other person had traveled through time. Instead, he asked a different question, "Who gave you your badge?"
"Your questions are quite insightful! It was given to me by a system, and her voice sounds a lot like Hafk's broadcast voice," Qi Yuzhe said, no longer showing the cautious probing he had just been.
"But Han Che, the fact that you asked this question means you also have a system, right?"
Han Che didn't intend to hide it and nodded in agreement, "Yes, I also have a system, just like you, it's Clara's voice."
"But isn't Raven part of Asara's faction? Why is it Clara's voice? Are they using the same system?"
"Maybe." Qi Yuzhe shook his head. "I've always felt that voice is more suitable as the system voice; it sounds familiar and comforting, so I haven't thought about this issue in much detail. But you're right, it doesn't quite fit if we're dividing it by faction."
The rhythm of each of them asking questions continued without stopping.
They then exchanged a lot of information, some of which were very specific.
Questions like, "Can you retrieve items from the system space at any time?", "Did you have any strange feelings after you were resurrected?", and "Do your personal guards obey your orders because of the system's settings or their own will?" are asked.
Later, their questions became more general, such as "How long have you been in this world?", "How are you adapting?", and "How did you and Xiaobai meet?".
Han Che and Qi Yuzhe went back and forth in question and answer several times, with each round of questions resulting in them talking more than the previous one.
Later on, the "you ask one, I ask one" rule was relaxed, and it almost turned into casual conversation between friends.
They had worked together in Tide Prison for some time and fought side by side, so they already had some trust in each other.
Now that they've discovered they're from the same hometown in some way, they feel even closer to each other.
The two of them were originally standing across the desk, but somehow they moved to the two sofas by the wall.
The two of them each held a cup of hot tea, steaming gently.
Han Che leaned back on the sofa, one leg crossed over the knee of the other, his fingers cupping the cup to warm his hands.
"When did you start to doubt my identity?" Han Che's drowsiness seemed to have been completely swept away during the conversation.
"I felt something was off after you resurrected me. Logically, you should be my mortal enemy, but you're unusually...friendly?" He raised his voice slightly as if to confirm his choice of words.
Qi Yuzhe trembled involuntarily as he recalled a piece of "unofficial history" that had flashed through his mind.
"?" Han Che looked puzzled.
Qi Yuzhe took a sip of tea. "But at first I was also in a hurry, afraid that you would notice my abnormality, so I memorized all the lines I could remember!"
"At first, I was also in a hurry. I memorized all of Raven's lines that I could remember, afraid that I would mess up a line and you would see through my mistake." He looked at Han Che with a hint of resentment.
"I remember that. That day you also memorized a lot of lines that weren't yours..." Han Che suppressed a laugh.
"How did you come up with the idea of testing me with this badge?" Han Che asked curiously.
"Dude? Seriously, I wasn't testing you with this, okay?" Qi Yuzhe sat up abruptly. "I've tested you so many times! You haven't reacted at all!"
"What did you test me about?" Han Che asked, puzzled.
"Let's not talk about the distant past, let's talk about the recent past!" Qi Yuzhe got angry just thinking about it. "I was curious before, don't you think Xiaobai looks familiar?"
"Familiar? Where do I look familiar?" Han Che wondered. Why are we talking about Xiao Bai again?
"No? Dude! You might not recognize her features, but doesn't that head of silver hair look familiar?"
Han Che then gradually realized, "Silver hair..."
"Fine, fine, there are silver-haired people too! Let me ask you something else, buddy, how many people with the surname Mai have you heard of?" Qi Yuzhe said through gritted teeth.
"Mai? You mean Xiaobai's father? I know he is..." Han Che was still recalling the background of Xiaobai's family that he had learned before returning to Tide Prison when he suddenly felt that something was wrong.
"Silver hair, surnamed Mai...you mean Mai Xiaowen?" Han Che stared wide-eyed at Qi Yuzhe.
"It's me, Chovy! Bro, you finally remembered!" Qi Yuzhe shouted. "Do you know why, even though it was so obvious, I still couldn't recognize you?"
"Such obvious clues, and you didn't have even the slightest suspicion? I even doubted myself!"
"I'm wondering if I've really mistaken you for someone else. You are a local, the local warden!"
"Sliding and jumping back, killing low-health enemies before healing, believing that Said's death will refresh aggro... and so on, all of these make me feel like you and I are the same!"
"My suggestive hints, full of expectation for you, turned out to be like casting a flirtatious glance at a blind man!"
Qi Yuzhe didn't even catch his breath before rattling off a long string of words, panting heavily with his face flushed red, whether from holding his breath or from anger, it was hard to tell.
"But she wasn't wearing a mask..." Han Che realized he had been a bit slow on the uptake and muttered to himself.
"I'd definitely understand if she wore a mask."
